Types of maps in the art of carpet weaving
The work plan of the carpet weave is according to the desired design. Beautiful artifacts in nature such as flowers and plants, Animals, heartbreaks and even beautiful calligraphy works have inspired designers. And designers with special skills and creativity. Draw these works naturally or modified And in the stages that will be mentioned later, they have turned into a wearable work And the weaver skillfully implements these works on the knots of the carpet. And it leaves a lasting impression.
In carpet weaving, the design of the set of actions is included, which is done in order to predict the texture of a carpet. These actions include:
1. Determining the role: In this stage, the general lines of the design are drawn with a pencil, and for this reason, the designs obtained from this stage are also called pencil designs.
2. Drawing: In the next step of drawing the pencil, the details of the role are determined, which is called the drawing operation.
3. Pointing: In order for the design to be prepared for weaving in the carpet, it must be made as a point that is equivalent to a knot in the carpet. This operation, that is, pointing out the boundaries of roles and drawings, is called punctuation.
4. Coloring: At this stage, the dotted patterns are painted and prepared for weaving. Due to the importance of color in carpets, color painting plays a special role And the person in charge of coloring should be given all the characteristics of color, Be fully proficient in the psychological role of colors, the color wheel, and the right combination of colors Because any care in this case will cause a lot of damage to the carpet.
It should be noted that in some parts of the country, such as Azerbaijan, the numbering method is used instead of coloring. In this way, the colors are identified by a number And write the numbers on a separate cardboard card and write the name of the corresponding color in front of each number. The advantage of the numbering method over the coloring method is that it is cheaper and more economical. In addition, preventing damage to the map and facilitating the creation of tissue surgery is another advantage of this type.
After the above steps, the map is cut into equal parts And they stick to cardboard, cardboard or even fabric. It is better to rub the polished oil to protect the map.
Leather paper and checkered paper (motif) are used to draw the design. In this way, the desired design is first drawn on parchment paper
It is then transferred to checkered paper using a light table And on checkered paper, dotting and coloring operations are performed. Checkered paper is made up of square houses Each large house is divided into 10 equal small houses in terms of width and length Each small house is equal to 1 node.
The principles of design and drawing must be observed in the preparation of the map. These principles are:
1- There should be a proportionality in the preparation of traditional maps between the background and margin colors, and this proportion should be observed. For example, it is better when the color of the carpet is cream
Use the border with lacquer text. Or when the color of the text is lacquered carpet, it is better to use a border with a textured surface.
2 – The width of the total margins on both sides of the carpet is usually equal to 1/3 of the width of the carpet and the total width of the small margins around the large margin is equal to the width of the large margin.
3- If the carpet map is of the elastic and bergamot type, the length of the bergamot is equal to 1/3 of the length of the carpet, but sometimes its length is equal to 1/5 of the length of the carpet.
4- If the map is colored by the numbering method, the numbers must be exactly specified and the color card must be with the map. And if the map is painted, all parts of the map, including flowers, plants, and borders, should be painted and the colors should be appropriate. (It should be noted that to save on cost of the map, only a small part of the text background and border margins can be colored).
5- If the carpet is to be woven using the main knots (Turkish and Persian), the maps must be exactly dotted and also clearly dotted.
6- In the case of traditional flower margins, the end of the margin should be drawn at a 45 degree angle.
7- In different situations, the necessary attention should be paid to the map. For example, if the map is prepared in Figures 2 and 2, the number of nodes in a rug is twice the number of small houses in a transverse row of the map. In the case of the symmetry map, it is only about the width of the carpet. In the case of map. ¼, this symmetry also exists for length. If the map is divergent. It is necessary to pay attention to the number of divergences that are repeated in the width and length of the carpet in the symmetrical mode, and in general, in the case of different types of maps, unwarranted and uninformed interventions should be avoided.
