He stated that thyme plant is useful for health, he said: Thyme plant and tea is used in ornamental, cooking, detergents and medicines.

Abbasi considered the consumption of thyme to increase the height and longevity of human beings and specified: Thyme oil has properties such as increasing mental strength, improving body cells, accelerating blood flow and rejuvenating the skin.

This researcher of traditional medicine, referring to the effect of thyme in the treatment of acne, emphasized: Consumption of thyme reduces dandruff, blood pressure, colon cancer, tooth decay and hair loss.

According to him, thyme oil is used in the production of products such as soap, shampoo, toothpaste and perfume.

Abbasi stated that this plant has antibacterial properties: Vitamin K in thyme increases calcium, body iron and improves osteoporosis.

He said about thyme tea: Consumption of this tea in winter improves whooping cough, bronchitis, throat sputum, respiration and digestion.

The researcher of traditional medicine stated that people with hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism should refrain from consuming thyme: Excessive consumption of thyme or herbal tea during pregnancy increases the risk of miscarriage.

Thymol is one of the chemicals in thyme, he said. The presence of chemicals such as chlorhexidine and thymol in thyme prevents tooth decay when consumed.

Regarding kidney patients and people with shortness of breath, Abbasi said: To improve and reduce the disease, these people should mix 10 grams of thyme plant with a tablespoon of honey and brew it.

Thymol may reduce heart rate, drop in body temperature, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, headache and delay blood clotting, said the traditional medicine researcher, adding that thyme is harmful to some people.
