The hands of an Isfahan craftsman on copper
Mahmoud Aghajani started his work in 2005 with the establishment of a four-person turquoise workshop. He now has 16 handicraft production workshops with 700 workers.
He added: Every month, a new plan is designed and produced.
Mahmoud Aghajani said: The art of turquoise is on copper art, which has been paid less attention to.
According to the Isfahani artist, turquoise and inlaid work on copper is a special art of combining several handicrafts in which turquoise pieces are polished with special delicacy on copper.
Masoud Asadi, production manager of the handicrafts collection, said: More than 120,000 pieces of turquoise and more than 20,000 pieces of inlay are produced annually in this collection.
The revival of painting on copper art dates back to the Safavid era and is scheduled to begin by the end of the year.
