Stereotypes in our handicrafts are old and severely degrading , Handicrafts, Traditional arts, Traditional Iranian handicrafts, Iranian handicrafts, Handicrafts and culture and art, Our old handicrafts

Ghobad Shiva, a master of communication design from the University of Perth in New York, spoke at the meeting about graphic features in industrial design and handicrafts.
He first pointed out that industry in Arabic means art, considered handicrafts as an art and added: Wherever man has created a work, his hand has been involved in it and technology and automation have only helped to reproduce it. .
The roots of today’s industry are in the industry that is created by connecting to the designer’s thought. In fact, the laws of physics and automatism provide the conditions for the pattern created by the designer and creator of the work to be reproduced and mass-produced.
Also, the countries that have developed in terms of industry in the sense of today, after examining, it becomes clear that the root of all progress has been in their handicrafts.
He further pointed to the neglect of the handicrafts sector in our country and added: Today in our country, due to mismanagement, how to transform the intelligence of the original craft according to today’s needs, has been neglected.
After the revolution, with the abolition of the Faculty of Decorative Arts and the replacement of the field of graphics, several generations were left untrained, and on the other hand, the old artisan races were directed towards the use of their art; This is actually the loss of our country.
For example, in the textile industry, Sassanid motifs and findings were forgotten, and with the advent of textile factories, there was no space for talented people to follow the characters of the past; Because people grow as we guide them.
Shiva went on to talk about graphic art and its relationship with handicrafts, saying: Graphics is presented as a media art that, in addition to being a media art and craft, is an industry that tastes everything.
When we want the work surface to be visually invasive, we hire a graphic designer to give the industry or spice to our work. But how much can graphics help our current handicrafts?
He added: In our handicrafts, not only are stereotypes old; Rather, it is being severely destroyed. When a taste for the media is promoted, the traditional artist also creates not-so-good works. There is no one to lead the industry.
Who is the one who sets the standard for the judiciary and prevents the perversion of taste? Unfortunately, handicrafts are somehow turning into rotten and deviant stereotypes, and the handicrafts organization has made efforts in this regard, but not within its budget. The graphic artist raises the question of whether such conferences can prevent destruction.
What we see in the production of handicrafts tells us that the current generation has no influence from the past, he said. Because all graphic students’ designs are based on media graphics.
When there is no unit or discipline in this regard, only blind imitation remains. Therefore, proper planning should be done in universities and in the packaging of handicraft products, some of the product characters should be put on the box.
In the end, he emphasized: the executive management of works due to high investment should be government and the handicrafts organization should take a step forward and model the work.
