Sistan handmade carpet in the world registration line
Nader Mirshakar, head of the Sistan and Baluchestan Industry, Mining and Trade Organization, said: “The original and ancient carpets of the Sistan region have unique features, including the type of special raw materials, weaving methods and embossing.”
Mirshakar added: “Therefore, according to the unique capacities of this type of carpet, according to the plan, the Sistan Handmade Carpet Registration Conference will be held on the 3rd of Bahman in Zabol city.”
He pointed out that many weavers in the Sistan region are skilled enough to weave carpets and hand-woven carpets, he continued: more than 5,000 square meters of hand-woven carpets are woven annually in Sistan and Baluchestan province.
Mirshakar pointed out that 80% of handmade carpets are exported to Sistan and Baluchestan province, and said: “Certainly, if the necessary conditions are provided, we can plan for the optimal use of this opportunity.”
Referring to the need to honor hand-woven carpet weavers, he noted: “Currently, 6,500 people in Sistan and Baluchestan province have received carpet weaving identification cards, and this trend continues.”
The head of the Sistan and Baluchestan Industry, Mining and Trade Organization stated: The use of natural colors, beautiful and unique patterns, the use of natural sheep wool, as well as the use of warm and very bright colors are other unique features of Sistan carpets.
