He continued: Satisfaction with the measures taken to win this title was evident in the recent visit of Ms. Ghada Hijavi, Head of the Evaluation Board of the World Handicrafts Council to Shiraz, and this council was informed about a year after the Shiraz case in this council. He agreed to register Shiraz as a world city of handicrafts.

Amiri added: Shiraz was registered as a national city of handicrafts on July 22, 2017, which was a prerequisite for the globalization of Shiraz and should have been done.

The Director General of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of Fars Province said: This title will definitely have a great impact on the prosperity of domestic and foreign production and supply of Shiraz handicrafts.

Amiri stated: Shiraz was selected as the world city of handicrafts and at the same time by the World Council of Handicrafts of Zanjan as the world city of tapestry, Malayer from Hamedan province as the world city of inlaid furniture and Qasem Abad village from Gilan province as the world village of tent weaving in The list of global industrialized towns and villages was recorded.

He said: With the registration of Shiraz and two other cities and villages in the world list, the number of global cities and villages in Iran in this list increased from 10 to 14 and in this regard, Iran is still ranked first in the world.

According to global statistics, 48 ​​cities and villages in the world are registered as global industrial cities or villages, of which 40 are located in the Asia-Pacific region, 6 in Latin America and 2 in Europe.

Iran ranks first with 11 cities and 3 global villages, with a total of 14 titles in the world of industrialized industrial cities and villages, and China ranks second with 7 cities and global industries of handicrafts.

Previously, Tabriz for carpets, Isfahan for creative handicrafts, Mashhad for gemstones, Lalejin Hamedan for pottery, Marivan Kurdistan for weaving (Giweh), Sirjan Kerman for Shiriki Pich kilim, Abadeh in the inlaid field, Meybod Yazd in the field of Zilubafi and the villages of Kharashad. South Khorasan in the field of towel weaving and Kalpurgan Sistan and Baluchestan have been registered in the list of the World Council of Handicrafts for 7,000 years of pottery.

This is the first time that the World Council of Handicrafts has reviewed four cases from Iran simultaneously.
