Recipe by Sheleh Amiri from Ilam in Iran
The main food we use in Sheleh Amiri is mung bean, which is one of the high-quality beans that has high fiber and is very easy to digest and non-bloated; Mung bean contains vitamins A and D; Mung bean is warm and low in calories. If you want to enjoy eating Amiri shell, drink it in winter and in cold weather. Due to the warm nature of mung bean, this food can act as a medicine for colds.
INGREDIENTS :
- Mung bean = 1 medium bowl
- Rice = 1 medium bowl
- Onion = 1 pcs medium
- Salt = as needed
- Turmeric = 2 teaspoons
- Black pepper powder = 1 teaspoon
- Oil = as needed
- Water = as needed
Ingredients for decoration:
- Onion = 2 pcs medium
- Mint powder = 2 tablespoons
- Oil = as needed
INSTRUCTION :
After cleaning and washing the mung bean, pour it into the pot and pour enough water and let the mung bean cook well.
Then remove the pot from the flame and let it cool, and grab the mung beans inside it to separate the pulp (mung bean skin) and throw it away.
Be careful not to throw away the water with which the mung bean is cooked.
Then put the pot on the flame and add the rice that has been soaked in water for about an hour.
Now add some salt to it.
After the rice is cooked, when it is not too hard and has some water, we add the onion that we fried with oil and finally we added pepper and turmeric to our food (you can also add some mint). Added) and then let it sit for 20 to 30 minutes. Be careful not to overdo it.
After the food is ready, to decorate it, we fry the onion and mint separately in oil and decorate our food with it.
