A) The best type of wool: As usual, all handicrafts must first prepare the basic materials for fabric preparation. White wool is mainly used in cashmere weaving. Cashmere wool should be very long and also shiny. Usually, belly wool and sheep’s wool are good options for use in the cashmere weaving industry. One of the reasons for the beauty of the Abbasi era cashmere is the presence of distinguished Chinese and Armenian designers who used their designs to give this Iranian art eye-catching beauty.
B) How to wash wool: To make wool beautiful and shiny, it is necessary to wash it. To do this, it is better to wash the sheep in water before cutting the wool so that the dirt and grease can be separated from the sheep’s wool. Then soak the wool in alkaline materials and then wash it several times with water.
C) Bleaching wool: Bleaching wool is done in two ways: First method: In this method, the wool was spread on the lawn to make it whiter by absorbing dew and evaporating it. Method 2: Use sulfur compounds that lead to more white wool.
D) Color stability: One of the most important steps in cashmere weaving is dyeing wool. Because in this method, the dyers use materials called teeth to give stability and stability to the color of the wool.
E) Dyeing by natural and plant dyes: The color of cashmere fabrics is usually obtained from plants. Dyeers go to the bark, trunks, stems, flowers, and trees to dye their wool so that they can give the wool a more stable color. It is very difficult to maintain the color of cashmere fabrics over time because it is lost due to moisture and time.
