Nahavand producer of 70% coriander in Iran

While Nahavand produces 70% of the country’s coriander, there is still no news about the launch of conversion and processing industries for this product, and one after another exports opportunities are lost so that the profits of farmers are the income of speculators.
Coriander is a fragrant plant that is used in the form of leaves, stems and seeds of coriander and is rich in healing properties due to its abundance of vitamins and minerals. It is used for skin problems and blood pressure regulation, and is an all-purpose herbal remedy.

In Hamedan province, which is famous for the production of some medicinal plants, Nahavand is privileged to cultivate coriander, so that 90% of coriander production in Hamedan province and about 65% of the country’s coriander production is done in this region, but nevertheless there are problems for producers.

The governor of Nahavand stated: At present, Nahavand city is considered as the center of production of this product with 65 to 70% of the country’s need for coriander.

Morad Naseri added: One of the problems of coriander farmers in Nahavand city is the lack of conversion industries, and this has caused 100% of the city’s products to be sold raw and its added value to reach intermediaries.
