Kermanshah handmade carpet with 400 year old woven fabric
From time immemorial, carpets adorn the walls and are the most pleasing underpinnings of Iranian homes. He says.
The handmade carpet of Kermanshah has hidden in its heart the memories of its weavers, which shows that it is many years away from the time of Kermanshahians. Historians have estimated the age of carpet weaving and carpet weaving in this province to be more than 400 years.
Kermanshah province’s handicrafts and cultural heritage expert says: “Sanghar carpet is known as Kurdish carpet and is mainly made of meaty carpets with long lint and high quality wool, as well as the presence of plant colors such as rhubarb, hair leaves, walnut skin, Straw, licorice, flowers, plants and weavers have always placed the carpet of this region called “Keliai carpet” among the best types of Iranian carpets.
Nusratullah Sepehr added: “The most famous designs of Sanghar carpets are armbands, Akbarabadi, Abdollahi, Samavari, Hosseinabadi, Kliaii, Kionani and non-native maps such as Mahi Darham, Bijar, Jozan and Saruq are also common in this region.”
The commercial deputy of Kermanshah province’s industry, mining and trade organization also says: 38,000 carpet producers in Kermanshah province are producing carpets, and this number of carpet weavers have a carpet weaving identification card.
Referring to the production of 2,000 tons of wool in Kermanshah in 1993, Pirayandeh said: Kermanshah is the first place in the country’s wool quality. Yarn produced from Kermanshah wool is exported to Russia, Turkey, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan, and the cities of Mashhad, Isfahan, Shiraz, Kurdistan, and West Azerbaijan.
Referring to the export of Kermanshah carpets from other customs outside the province, he said: “This year, for the first time, the export of carpets from the customs of Kermanshah province was carried out and the export of 2 tons of carpets to Malaysia is underway.”
But Kermanshah carpets with a long history and several hundred years old are struggling with many problems and as the carpet weavers of the province say, the high price of yarn preparation for carpet production is not affordable. Recover your past and overcome problems?
The lack of a spinning mill has sounded the alarm for the Kermanshah hand-woven carpet industry. This shortage has caused the wool produced to reach Kermanshah weavers after passing through many intermediaries at a cost of about three times as much.
