Jajim Historical handicraft in Iran
The deputy director of the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage of Lorestan said: Jajim is a kind of double-sided fabric.
Afshin Babahosseini stated: Jajim is a type of fabric that is produced with a different weaving technique from other textiles called Tarro or Jajim Baft.
He added: In this type of texture, unlike other textiles, patterns are created along and parallel to its threads.
Babahosseini stated: The most important areas of weaving of this type of fabric are Tarhan and Sartarhan areas of Kuhdasht city, as well as Bakhtiari-Lorestan areas, ie Aligudarz city.
According to the Deputy Minister of Handicrafts of the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage of Lorestan, Bakhtiari nomads produce the best examples of Jajim in the province.
He continued by stating that Jajim is an old handicraft in Iran: due to the fact that there are two procedures and no lint, both of them can be used.
Babahosseini reminded: Jajim raw materials are wool and four pieces are woven, which will be connected and sewn after weaving.
