Jajim handmade with designs inspired by nature
A professor of anthropology at the universities of Kermanshah province said: Jajim is another of the main handicrafts and traditional arts of Kermanshah province, whose artists draw special inspiration from nature in their designs.
Shahla Javaheri, a master of anthropology and a professor at the universities of Kermanshah province, referring to the art of jajim weaving, said: Jajim is a beautiful and spectacular handicraft with various colors and patterns that are woven in some parts of the province, including Sahneh and Harsin.
He added: Jajim’s designs are inspired by the beautiful nature of the region and the taste and talent of the weavers. The senior anthropologist said: Nomads use Jajim as a mattress and the outer surface of the quilt, as well as when moving.
Regarding how to weave jajim, Javaheri also stated: Jajim weaving is done on long and narrow wooden beams.
He continued: Jajim is divided into two groups in terms of texture; Simple colored striped jajims that have been common in the past and engraved jajims.
This professor of anthropology at the universities of Kermanshah province, said: the use of soft and calm plant colors that are taken from nature in the margins of the paintings will shine and multiply its brightness.
