Harvesting 275 kg of saffron in Bardsir
Sabkkhiz, director of agricultural jihad in Bardsir city, said: an area equal to 81 hectares of agricultural lands in Bardsir city was planted with saffron last year, and 2 hectares have been added to these lands this year.
He added: The production of this product last year was about 220 kg, which is expected to increase to 275 kg this year.
The director of Jihad Keshavarzi of Bardsir city said: due to the occurrence of cold and frost last year, the yield of saffron in the region had a significant decrease, which we hope will be compensated this year.
He added: horticulture experts and promotion of this management by holding appropriate training classes on planting, holding and harvesting red gold in the region, introducing centers for preparing and distributing high quality onions to farmers, guidance and continuous visits regarding planting time and required number of onions in each Hectares or square meters accompany farmers to harvest better crops and higher yields.
Every year, the necessary facilities are granted to the applicants for planting this product, and many applicants refuse to receive these facilities for various reasons, such as being indebted to the banks, or not having proper collateral, and so on.
