Harvesting 1200 kg of saffron in Darmian city
Nasiraei, director of Jihad Keshavarzi in Darmian city, said: Saffron harvest from 300 hectares of fertile farms in the city starts from the beginning of November and continues until the end of November.
He added: This year, 5 hectares of new saffron farms have been planted with saffron, and it is expected that 1,200 kilograms of saffron will be harvested from the farms of this city this year.
Nasiraei stated: Due to the climatic conditions and management in the cultivation of saffron farms this year, the harvest yield per hectare is more than 4 kg.
The director of Jihad Keshavarzi of the city, stating that for each hectare of saffron harvest, 15 people have been provided with employment days, clarified:
He said: Due to the economics of saffron cultivation and the need for low irrigation and the fact that most of the agricultural lands in the city are small, the cultivation process of this crop grows well every year.
Nasiraei stated: In order to support the production and export of saffron, eligible applicants can refer to the Sita system of the Ministry of Jihad-e-Agriculture and register for technical and credit assistance and internal resources.
