Global registration of Tabriz as a creative carpet city
The head of the Asia-Pacific Region of the World Council of Handicrafts announced the beginning of expert studies to record the globalization of Tabriz as a creative carpet city.
Ghoda Hijavi stated: In 2015, six cities were selected for registration in the World Council of Handicrafts (wcc), and two cities, Tabriz and Isfahan, were selected from Iran.
He considered Tabriz as a city of civilization and history and said: “I have complete information about the Safavid period and the prominent role of the city of Tabriz, and this city has shone in the flourishing of Islamic Iran over the past hundreds of years.”
The President of the Asia-Pacific Region of the World Handicrafts Council noted: “Some countries have used Tabriz’s art to flourish their art, and the value and credibility of Tabriz’s art is clear to all of us.”
Hijavi considered art as an important factor in crossing political borders and said: “Art is a manifestation of communication and humanity, and carpet is a clear and beautiful example of art.”
