Forecast of harvesting 2700 tons of walnuts from Marivan orchards
The director of Jihad-e-Agriculture of Marivan city announced the forecast of harvesting 2,700 tons of walnuts from 910 hectares of walnut orchards in Marivan city this year.
Seyyed Aziz Hashemi, referring to the existence of 1,325 hectares of walnut orchards in Marivan Sharistan, stated: More than 25% of the orchards of this city have been allocated to this product.
He added: Considering that 910 hectares of these orchards are fertile and 415 hectares are infertile, so it is predicted that in the fall of this year, about 2,700 tons of walnuts will be harvested in the villages of this city.
The director of Jihad-e-Agriculture of Marivan city pointed out: the main percentage of walnuts produced in the city is consumed and a significant percentage of it is exported to other provinces.
Walnut harvest has started in September of this year and will continue until mid-October.
