Export of Iranian handmade carpets to neighboring countries
The head of the National Carpet Center of Iran explained: From carpets to raw materials used in handmade carpets, there are Iranian products that show that we must protect this industry. Policy-making must move in the right direction to support the industry.
Dast said: 80% of the products are exported and only 20% are used inside the country, so this industry has a good currency for the country and with its help, Iranian art can be shown to the world.
The head of the National Carpet Center of Iran added: “We have plans to promote the domestic market so that this industry can show itself.” The United States was the first country to leave our export basket and we are trying to replace it with other countries.
“Many countries, such as India, which is one of our competitors, want Iranian carpets,” he said. Fortunately, given that Iranian carpets have been registered, no other country can copy these designs.
Dastpak said: “We are now looking to increase domestic sales of handmade carpets, and banks will provide us with facilities in this regard.”
