Existence of 20% of Iranian grape gardens in Fars
The head of Fars province agricultural jihad said: 73 thousand and 316 hectares of the province’s lands are allocated to grapes garden, which is more than 20% of the country’s grapes gardens and the largest grapes garden in the country.
Kherad added: Proper rainfall and timely pest control have caused the harvest to be 30% higher this year than last year.
Last year, 480,000 tons of grapes were harvested from the province’s vineyards, but so far 625,000 tons of grapes have been harvested from these vineyards.
The head of Fars Jihad Keshavarzi added: Using drip irrigation and standing planting is another reason to increase the crop because in flood irrigation 60% of water is wasted and in addition, creeping or creeping planting causes the development of white spot disease. It grows in gardens.
The main grapes of Fars province are harvested in Bavanat, Shiraz, Mamasani, Sepidan and Meymand districts of Firoozabad, respectively, of which 21 thousand 541 hectares are irrigated and 51 thousand 775 hectares are rainfed.
Grapes cultivars of Fars province in order of harvest time; Yaghooti, ??Asgari, Rutbi, Khalili, Rish Baba, Sahebi, Shirazi, Siah, seedless red grapes and seedless white and Samarkand.
Khalili and Askari cultivars are used as raisins and Shirazi cultivar is mostly used as juice and the rest as fresh food.
