Beginning of chamomile harvest in Ardabil province

Chamomile is one of the most important medicinal plants in Ardabil province, which occupies a large area of pastures, slopes of Sabalan mountain and Feddolo forest.
Cow chamomile and Shirazi chamomile are two important types of chamomile in the country, the most important difference of which is the transparency of the tea.
Ardabil province is one of the important poles of medicinal plants in the country, which has valuable medicinal plants with high active ingredients. One of the most important medicinal plants in the province is chamomile, which occupies a large area in late May to June and is collected and sold by local people.
There are different types of chamomile that have different healing properties and active ingredients. Chamomile has long been used extensively in our traditional medicine, and now not only has this consumption not diminished, but it has become one of the most widely used medicinal plants in the world.
Scientists have realized the medicinal value of this important plant and have developed many pharmaceutical and therapeutic protocols to take advantage of its medicinal and therapeutic benefits.
Many of these protocols do not require a doctor’s prescription, and humans can find out how and how much to use based on information from reliable sources.
Another type of Shirazi or tiny chamomile is scientifically called Anthemisia tinctoria, which is known as sweet chamomile and has a good taste. In wetter areas, cows grow more because they have a larger vegetative structure and need more water to complete their growth.
Compared to the cow type, the Shirazi type has a smaller body and acts quickly to form flowers. Shirazi chamomile is very tasty and transparent and the only significant difference between these two types of chamomile is the clarity of their drink.
In this way, chamomile tea is a dull cow, but Shirazi chamomile tea is very transparent and without darkness and turbidity, and perhaps for this reason, it is bitter and it is called sweet.
Deputy Minister of Cultural Heritage Tourism of Ardabil Province, referring to the Chamomile Flowers Festival, said: Hazelnut forest is one of the tourist attractions of Ardabil Province and the Chamomile Flowers Festival aims to introduce the potential and tourist attractions of this forest and focus on the flower growing season. Chamomile has been held for the past four years.
Qader Taghizadeh added: In holding these festivals, in addition to creating a fresh atmosphere, we are looking to attract private sector investment to take steps towards the development of the province.
