Currently, kilim weaving is common among rural and nomadic women in Ardabil province, and this province is one of the production hubs of this product in the country.
Queen Golmaghanizadeh, Deputy Minister of Handicrafts of Ardabil Cultural Heritage Organization, says that more than 10,000 kilim weavers work in Ardabil province, most of whom are engaged in this profession part-time, and annually 450,000 square meters of kilim in this province. It is woven.
He added that kilim weaving is one of the most popular training courses in the province: “Currently, these courses are held in three levels: introductory, advanced and learning.”

Namin, the center of kilim production
Although from Moghan plain in the north of Ardabil to Khalkhal in the south of this province, kilim weaving is a common handicraft among rural and nomadic women, but Namin city and especially Anbaran section are the poles of production of this product in Ardabil province.
Atef Naseri, the governor of Namin, says that about half of the province’s kilims are woven annually in Namin, especially in the city of Anbaran and the surrounding villages. “The production of kilims in this city of Namin reaches 250,000 square meters annually, and the Anbar kilim Namin is one of the well-known special brands in the country.
