All about the Iranian Boulevard carpet

The Bulvardi carpet is a resident of the Bulvardi village of the Abolvardi tribe of the Inalo tribe (from the Khamseh tribe) who came to Persia from Turkestan during the Mongol rule. Despite the connections and relationships that are usually established between individuals, and despite the fact that all groups of the Abolvardi clan have a long tradition of carpet weaving and, consequently, the exchange of engravings, the Abulvardi handicrafts of Anari Garden or Shirazi are completely different from the weaving of other Abolvardi groups. Is. Therefore, the name “Boalvardi” is used interchangeably for carpets woven in the Abolvardi village of Shiraz.

Weaving machines, like other rural and tribal areas, are horizontal and ground. All carpets are made of wool, which means that in addition to the meat of the carpet, the fabric and the so-called “chele” and “root” are all made of wool. Except that sometimes three rows of weft pass through a thread in the weft rows for more strength and durability. Bulldog rugs are fleshy and very tight, and the knots are very thin and clinging to each other, which makes it difficult to fold from the back, sometimes making them brittle and bursting and “blowing” the rug in their own language.
The tying style is “Turkish weaver” and usually does not weave more than sixty-five ridges per ten centimeters (65 x 65 per ten centimeters square).
Therefore, bollard rugs are less microscopic and more semiconductor. In the original boulders that were woven a few years ago, no larger than 45 ridges were seen in ten centimeters. In the new Bulldogs, which are all coarse-grained, this value has reached 35 Row and 30 Row .

Coloring and dyeing
Until about forty years ago, it was all plant-based and natural, derived from mountain plants, especially rhubarb and jasmine, and from pomegranate, walnut, and hair leaves.
Gradually, volatile chemical dyes (Aniline), which are easily and cheaply obtained, were used. But the ratio of chemical and vegetable dyes never exceeded 10 percent until twenty years ago, and vegetable dyes accounted for at least 90 percent of the original boulder carpet dyes.
Some dyes, such as gray and camel, were used in the same natural, non-dyed wool color.
One of the features of the old Bulvardi painting is that it does not use live red and red, which is obtained from red seed or chemical dyes in all parts of Iran, as well as the limitations of the colors of each carpet, which does not exceed twelve colors in the most colorful Bulvardi carpets.
