All about Shekargah carpet design
Shekargah is one of the main designs of the Iranian carpet, and the main foundation of this group of designs is the display of hunting scenes and Shekargah.
The use of visual images of living things before Islam became common among Iranian artists during the Islamic period, at the beginning of the design of this category of designs, but after a while it flourished again. It is said that this project is a relic of the Safavid period and is attributed to the Shah Abbasi school.
In the Shekargah scenes, horsemen on horseback are hunting animals using bows and arrows, daggers and swords. These rugs are generally designed in two ways:
1- Shekargah Forest: In this design method, tall horsemen can be seen around riders.
2 – Shekargah Shrubland: In some Shekargah scenes, riders are drawn on lush plains with short shrubs, hills and flowers, hunting animals.
