Sarapi carpet  is one of the light rural carpets that is woven in Sarapi region located in East Azarbaijan province in northwestern Iran. In this carpet, symmetrical knots are used with cotton thread and woolen lint. lachak and toranj and geometric designs are common and red, blue, green, yellow, ivory and pink are common colors of Sarapi carpet.

It was probably about three decades ago that I first heard the word “sarapie”, which refers to the narrator of a type of weaving of the first generation of Harris, whose calm and geometric patterns, natural and plant colors, coarse and irregular texture are its hallmarks. It has gone, but since then, it has entered the Iranian carpet culture with the term “Sarapi” across the geographical borders of Iranian carpets.
