All about Rudbar handmade carpets in Iran
Rudbar rug is one of the light rural rugs that is woven in Rudbar region located in Gilan province in northern Iran. In this carpet, symmetrical and asymmetrical knots with cotton thread and wool lint have been used. Mixed, elastic and bergamot and geometric fish are common and red designs, ivory, earthy and blue are the common colors of Rudbar carpet.
In one of the common designs, a set of two reciprocating branches filled with flowers and leaves and the role of an idol in a red copper background is repeated. The ivory border of these carpets is enclosed between two narrow strips. One of the hallmarks of Rudbar carpets, which are woven in different sizes, is the pink color, their textures, and the other is the softness and sponge-like properties of their lint.
