All about Jowzan handmade carpets in Iran
Jowzan carpet is a rural and urban style carpet that is woven in Jowzan region located in Hamadan province in western Iran. In this carpet, symmetrical and asymmetrical knots with cotton thread and wool lint have been used. Toranj, Mehrabi, Tree and Vase are common and red, blue, navy, yellow, pink and ivory designs from the common colors of Jowzan carpet.
In the literacy of Malayer is the famous village of Jowzan. A village whose long-lasting, well-polished and durable carpets have benefited from a good polish in the market for a long time. The weaving methods and the type of knots and even the Jowzan dyeing methods, especially the red dye obtained from the combination of rhubarb and buttermilk, are very similar to the collective work of Saroogh dyers.
