$ 3 million handwoven carpets were exported from Golestan
Darvish Ali Hassanzadeh, pointing out that one of the ways of currency appreciation for the country and Golestan is to pay attention to handicrafts and more importantly the carpet art of the people of this land, said: Golestan handwoven carpet artists last year produced 100,000 square meters of carpet weighing 398 tons.
He added: “Also, during this period, 17 thousand and 600 square meters of hand-woven carpets weighing about 70 tons of Golestan were exported, which has been effective in currency exchange for the province.”
Deputy Minister of Commerce and Trade Development of Golestan Industry, Mining and Trade Organization continued: The rial value of Golestan hand-woven carpets exported was about three million dollars, which was exported to European countries and the Persian Gulf.
He also pointed to the amount of production and production of Golestan carpets in 2018 and stated: Last year, 102,600 square meters of carpets weighing 411 tons were produced in Golestan and 132 tons of carpets were produced worth four million dollars.
Hassanzadeh said that due to sanctions, the export of carpets from Golestan to the United States did not take place last year, noting that about 38,000 people in Golestan have received carpet weaving cards, but only 6,000 of them are covered by social security insurance.
He pointed out that the payment of facilities, the establishment of training courses to improve skills, equipping and setting up a carpet weaving workshop are among the support programs of this organization in the province.
