Weaving 9000 meters of handmade carpets in Hamadan province
The head of the carpet department of Hamadan province said: in the first six months of this year, 9000 meters of handmade carpets have been woven in Hamadan province.
Ahmad Ali Babaei, stating that there are currently 30,000 carpet weavers in the province, said: 60,000 people work in the field of hand-woven carpets in Hamadan province.
He specified: during the first six months of the year, 18 tons of raw materials for the production of handmade carpets have been distributed among weavers by the carpet organizations of the province.
Babaei pointed out: Unfortunately, we are still in a period of stagnation in the production of carpets, and there has been no movement in the production and export of carpets as it should be.

Hamedan market is satisfactory for handmade carpet producers
Referring to the hand-woven carpet exhibition in Hamedan, Babaei said: In this exhibition, which was attended by 16 provinces of the country, we saw a good reception so that the exhibitors were satisfied with the situation of the Hamedan market.
The head of the carpet department of Hamedan province continued: Fortunately, the people of Hamedan welcome the handmade carpets and the situation of the Hamedan market is satisfactory for the producers of handmade carpets.
Emphasizing the people’s use of handmade carpets, he said: Handmade carpets, in addition to being a capital good, are also considered in terms of quality and health.
He announced the holding of a national meeting of carpet weavers in November and added: In October, a national meeting of carpet weavers will be held in Urmia, in which carpet issues and problems will be examined.
Emphasizing on organizing trade unions, Babaei said: There is no single and defined mechanism in trade unions, and everyone acts as they wish, which will be examined at the meeting of the heads of the country’s carpets so that we can have a carpet with a private organization and a government organization. Manage macro level.
He continued: In the public sector, carpets have had several managers who damage the nature and decision-making in the field of carpets, while in the legal definition of 1982, carpets were separated from Jihad and given to the Ministry of Commerce.
The head of Hamedan Carpet Department reminded: Hamedan province’s proposal in this meeting is to establish a carpet house and we will present the proposed statute of the carpet house so that the National Carpet Organization is formed and carpet houses become carpet management tools and all activities are concentrated in the carpet house.
We do not have quality raw materials for carpet production
Regarding the problems of the province’s carpet development, the head of the Hamedan Carpet Department also emphasized: In the facilities sector, we have not been able to have strong financial support from carpet organizations for a long time, and Hamedan carpet cooperatives have not received credit yet. They should be supported from time to time.
He considered the lack of quality raw materials as another problem of the province’s carpets and said: If the raw materials are high quality, the producer will produce a quality product and as a result, everyone will benefit from it. Providing quality raw materials requires credit.
Babaei added: When we believe that carpets as a profession that plays a significant role in job creation with the least credits, we should pay attention to it and allocate special credit to it in budgeting.
